The company, which was spun off from software solutions firm Anite last year in a management buyout led by Mike Kingswood and private equity specialists Lloyds Development Capital, works with the likes of Tui and Thomas Cook, as well as SuperBreak, but is now eyeing expansion.
Cruickshank, who joined in June this year from marketing company Iris, said: “We have new customers lined up. We want to acquire companies to gain both staff and technology. By acquiring companies we can broaden our geographies; they would complement our existing products. We see ourselves as a travel technology provider.”
Cruickshank believes Atcore is well placed to help travel companies better respond to the fast-changing marketplace, citing new PTD regulations that will affect the way online components are sold, growth in ancillaries and cloud storage as key areas. He added that Atcore was also set to launch new products.
“Previously Anite Travel felt like the best-kept secret… we didn’t have to do any marketing,” he added. “My desire at the moment is to reconfirm our position in the marketplace. “We specialise in leisure travel, we love complicated businesses.”
Cruickshank previously worked at British Airways-owned AirMiles and Yotel.
