Symphony, which will be the world’s largest ship when it launches in April 2018, will spend its inaugural summer season sailing the Mediterranean, calling at ports in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Provence, Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples.
The ship will then arrive in Miami in early November to begin seven-night Eastern and Western itineraries from November 17, sailing from the line’s new Terminal A in Miami, which Royal Caribbean started constructing this week.
Symphony will feature 28 more staterooms than its most recent sister ship Harmony of the Seas, with the line promising “new features and amenities for guests”, as well as “ground-breaking innovations and thrilling experiences”.
It will also have seven “neighbourhoods”, Bionic Bar robot bartenders, three waterslides as well as Ultimate Abyss, which Royal Caribbean claims to be the tallest slide at sea.
Meanwhile Terminal A, which has been nick-named the Crown of Miami due to its shape, is scheduled to be completed in time for the arrival of Symphony and sister ship Allure of the Seas in November 2018.
Royal Caribbean has promised the new terminal will be the “most innovative cruise facility in the US”.
