Ehab Azmy, the head of Egypt’s state-run provider of air navigation services, denied the aircraft had swerved 90 degrees to the left and made a 360-degree turn before falling out of the skies.
Instead, he said flight MS804 had been cruising along at its regular altitude of 37,000ft before disappearing off the radar when it went missing last Thursday with the loss of all 66 crew and passengers.
Azmy added: "That fact degrades what the Greeks are saying about the aircraft suddenly losing altitude before it vanished from radar.”
