The Telegraph reports the aircraft was ground by Singapore Airlines in June after 10 years of use.
The aircraft, which has been returned to leasing company Dr Peters Group is now being stored in France, minus its engines.
The group said it was optimistic about finding a new lessor for the 853-passenger aircraft which was originally launched in August 2007.
However, sales have failed to meet expectations due to the sheer size of the aircraft which has limited the number of airports it can land at.
If not, the £190 million aircraft could be broken up for parts, with an estimated value of at least £75 million.
