Wates joins the tour operator from Rock Insurance and will be based at Funway’s head office in Bromley. He previously worked for Funway for three years as financial controller.
Nick Talbot, Funway’s marketing director, said: ““We are absolutely delighted to have attracted someone of Guy’s calibre and welcome him back on board.
“He brings extensive experience of strategic financial development, change management and operational delivery plus of course extensive knowledge of the Funway business already.”
Funway’s managing director Stephen Rhodes left the tour operator in March after six year.
Former product and commercial director Melissa Tilling has taken over as Funway’s new managing director.
