The company said it wanted to ensure that people continue to be put “at the heart of everything [the company does], whether customers, Travel Counsellors or the global support team”.
It created a holistic programme to help people within the business to stay healthy, with a focus on nutrition and fitness, and mental wellbeing. Weekly pilates classes are being offered.
Operations director Karen Morris told delegates: “We want everyone within the company to feel they are part of a family support network, not just a business.
“The number one aim of the wellness programme is to improve the lives of everyone at the company, but there is also a dual benefit of increasing motivation and productivity. We retained 96% of head office support when we relocated to our new premises in Trafford City through focusing on the needs and wellbeing of our people and the ongoing support we provide to our Travel Counsellors. We believe that this additional investment in health will further reinforce what a great place Travel Counsellors is to be part of.”
The company has also launched a buddy scheme, to support Travel Counsellors in running their own business. The scheme enables members to provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence, while allowing them to share earnings on new bookings secured during this time.
