The airline will operate three services a week from October 29. The flight will leave Amsterdam at 13.00, allowing for a morning connection from the UK, and arrive in India at 01.55. The return departure from Mumbai is at 04.00, arriving in Holland at 08.45.
KLM will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, seating 30 in new World Business Class, 45 in Economy Comfort and 219 in economy.
As well as being the home of the Bollywood movie, Mumbai is India’s commercial and financial capital.
KLM president and chief executive Pieter Elbers said: “This latest addition will bring the total number of direct flights between the Netherlands and India next winter to 31 flights a week. This will be a great stimulus for ties between the two countries.”
