Damien Mellors, 34, of Trefan Gardens, Bestwood was charged yesterday (July 20) with attempted robbery, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, possession of imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, criminal damage and possession of a bladed article, the Nottingham Post reports.
Officers were called at around 3pm on July 12 after a man allegedly entered Destinations Travel on Carlton Hill in the city with a weapon demanding money.
The shop owner was assaulted and was later taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment to a head injury.
Mellors is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on August 16.
