The Red Arrows were performing at the Sunderland Airshow, near the families’ homes in South Shields, and amended their usual routine to create a heart shape in the sky in tribute to the couple.
Westoe Travel owner Graeme Brett said: “This was an amazing tribute and it was wonderful to see if front of over two hundred thousand people.
“The families were overwhelmed.”
Meanwhile, the fundraising for the families of Chloe and Liam has reached £13,000 and a new target of £20,000 has been set.
Brett added: “We have passed the original target of £10,000 but having seen the challenges the two families face we have doubled our efforts to try to get to the £20,000.
“We are hoping that sales of the raffle tickets at £5 each with over 50 prizes including flights and holidays will help us get near the target.
“The support from across the travel industry has been amazing and there have been some wonderful initiatives.”
Manchester agents Jill Waite of Pole Trave and Ken Garrity of Ken Garrity Travel have been attending events in the Manchester area to boost the funds, while Travel Counsellor Elaine Simpson from Hebden Bridge has been buying raffle tickets to give to every customer who books with her this month.
“We are so grateful for all of the support from our wonderful colleagues,” said Brett.
