The line’s Symphony of the Senses pop-up event launched to media in London on Thursday evening (February 1) and is aimed at attracting the new-to-cruise market ahead of the vessel’s delivery next month.
More than 400 people are anticipated to visit the attraction, open to the public from February 2-3 in Holborn, according to Royal Caribbean, with the line adding that the experience “utilises sight, sound, feel, taste and scent” to bring the experiences available onboard Symphony and “the essence of a Royal Caribbean holiday to life”.
The 6,870-passenger ship, the fourth of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class, will become the world’s largest cruise vessel when it enters service.
Ben Bouldin, associate vice-president and managing director UK & Ireland, said: “As with all our new ships, Symphony will push the boundaries of what is possible when holidaying and this event promises to do exactly that - except in the middle of London.
“The word Symphony itself means an elaborate composition of many different elements coming together in perfect synergy. With this in mind, we wanted to create a preview of Symphony of the Seas - our most extraordinary ship to date - that will bring to life the totality of the onboard experience to life in one amazing pop-up, completely interactive experience.”
Attendees who post photos of the event to social media tagging Royal Caribbean, using @MyRoyalUK and #MySymphony, will be entered into a competition to win a family holiday onboard Symphony.
