The Irish low-cost carrier said it would not deploy new aircraft on UK routes next year following last week’s referendum result.
Chief executive Michael O’Leary said the airline would “pivot all of our growth into the European Union” during an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
O’Leary had been one of the most vocal supporters of the Remain campaign for the UK to stay within the EU and had warned that Ryanair would cut investment in its UK operations following a Brexit vote.
The UK accounts for around 40% of the 100 million passengers that Ryanair carries each year.
O’Leary added that he expected three or four months of “considerable uncertainty” following the Brexit decision which would have a “limited impact” on short-term bookings to and from the UK.
