The stores, which are in Aberdeen, Harrogate, Gateshead, Merryhill, Liverpool, Maidstone, Darlington, Bolton, Newport, Plymouth and Fareham, contain cruise merchandising throughout, with all agents specifically trained in cruise products.
The company said team members had undergone “robust training to ensure expert cruise advice” was provided. It added that the “look and feel of the stores had been refreshed, inspired by the ships”.
“The cruise concept stores further illustrate the company’s commitment to the high street, aiming to offer a specially tailored and personalised service to our many cruise customers,” retail director Joanna Wild said.
Five of the stores are partnered with Carnival UK cruise lines, including brands such as P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises. The other six stores meanwhile have teamed up with Royal Caribbean Cruises.
Gerard Tempest, chief commercial officer of Carnival UK said: “We have had a relationship with Thomas Cook dating back to the 19th century and we know our customers appreciate the face-to-face expert service Thomas Cook provides.”
Ben Bouldin, sales director UK and Ireland, Royal Caribbean International, added: “When the opportunity to work with Thomas Cook on the introduction of dedicated Cruise Stores arose Royal Caribbean jumped at the chance to be involved, with both parties very much aligned on our collective goals for 2015 and beyond.”
