In a session chaired by TTG editor Pippa Jacks, three genuine angel investors will first share what they look for when considering investment opportunities, and then hear five-minute pitches from three different start-up businesses currently looking for investment.
Book your ticket – or book a ticket for a young achiever in your business for just £149+VAT. Your ticket gives you full access to the conference and includes a fabulous networking lunch. A full agenda and details of our speakers will be confirmed soon.
The investor panel will be formed of Oliver Brendon, owner of Attraction Tickets Direct and DoSomethingDifferent.com; Chris Photi, head of travel and leisure at accountancy firm White Hart Associates; and Ian Brooks, co-founder of Gail Kenny Executive Recruitment and one of the advisors at specialist investor Pebble Travel.
The three young start-ups who will be delivering their “power pitch” to the panel are: Prashant Lagisetti, founder of Localoids – an online community for travellers to share culture, language, skills and knowledge; Sam Bruce, co-founder of Much Better Adventures – a global marketplace for small, niche tour operators; and Louis Skoutellas, founder of TripMule – an online platform where travellers post travel enquiries to which travel agents and travel providers can respond.
The three angels will quiz the entrepreneurs on their concepts and business plans, and then all conference delegates will be invited to decide which of the three start-ups they’d most likely invest in themselves.
Jacks said: “This session is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and interactive of the day, and while it’s just an exercise, there’s no reason why these real-life angels couldn’t make a genuine investment if they hear something they like from our three hopeful start-ups.” The conference takes place from 9am until 5pm on Wednesday November 25 at 30 Euston Square and is the second to take place, following a successful launch last year.
The all-day event will offer inspiration, leadership advice and career development tips for younger people in travel, from some of the most exciting businesses today. Sessions will cover growing a career in a large company, building a business out of your passions, managing early success and much more.
