The company is creating a new brand campaign as part of the TV sponsorship, aiming to name customers of the Travel Republic “citizens”, with the Travel Republic given its own flag and national anthem, the OTA said.
It added that its sponsorship of ITV’s long-running comedy would keep the show’s and company’s “fun, open and cheeky personality”.
Ian Simmonds, managing director for Travel Republic said: “ We don’t think that there is a better show for us to sponsor at this time. Benidorm is not only set in a holiday location, but is also filmed at The Sol Pelicanos-Ocas Hotel, in Benidorm, which we sell.”
