TTG Media is proud to announce the launch of a new initiative designed to celebrate older people in travel, following the success of its 30 Under 30 programme.
Yesterday’s Travel Leaders will applaud the top 60 Over 60 senior leaders in the sector.
As with its sister initiative, Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders, it will feature regular dinners, and its own conference, but will offer inspiring talks from the youth of today.
Managing director Daniel Pearce said he decided to launch the new network after facing criticism for focussing too much on helping younger people in travel.
“Young people have already been given a step up through our Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders scheme – now it’s time to help the senior leaders in travel too,” he said.
“We’ve already received great feedback on this - we want the current leaders of the industry to start learning from the younger people.”
Airline executive Floral Poi is one such leader who has already registered to be part of the new programme. “I might be successful but I feel there is a lot I can still learn,” she said. “I’m hoping to learn new marketing techniques such as Snapchat, #obvs,” she added.
