Twice the size of its current base, the eighth-floor office at Friar’s House on Blackfriars Road, Southwark, London is being developed by TTG on a long-term lease offering more opportunity for growth, and more opportunity to develop in a purpose-built modern media environment.
Coming at the end of January, the move will coincide with the appointment of four new team members, including two new additions to the editorial team, an events assistant to support event manager Emma Corbett and our growing events portfolio, and TTG Media Limited’s first dedicated finance manager.
At the same time, TTG consulting editor Ed Robertson, who has more than 11 years experience of reporting and analysing the travel industry in the trade media, has been promoted to the position of Editor of Routes News – the aviation publication TTG Media won the contract for last year.
The moves come two years after TTG became an independent business following a management buy-out led by former editor Daniel Pearce.
“We’ve had a terrific two years since the formation of TTG Media Limited in the autumn of 2013 – and that’s been thanks to the support of the fantastic travel industry, and the tireless TTG Media team,” said managing director Pearce.
“Whilst our current offices have been a great home to the new business, it’s time for us to lay down longer term roots as we continue to grow TTG Media confidently with new launches and developments.”
Highlights in the past couple of years include:
The launch of:
- Our new responsive website flymy.co.uk
- The new TTG Travel Awards at the Lyceum Theatre and the Savoy
- Our first Luxpo events in luxury travel
- Our first TTG Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders conferences for aspiring young travel leaders
- Our first TTG LGBT networking events and conference
- And the relaunch of ttgluxury magazine
Meanwhile international brand manager Tony Fields has brought a new unity to the network of TTG licensed titles across the globe over the past 12 months, from TTG Nordic in Copenhagen, Denmark to TTG Middle East & North Africa in Cyprus.
In the past year TTG Media has won two British Media Awards for the TTG Travel Awards (Silver) and the relaunched ttgluxury (Bronze), as well as being shortlisted in major media industry awards including the PPA Awards.
News editor Sophie Griffiths was named Travel Trade Writer of the Year at the Travel Media Awards in November, whilst editor Pippa Jacks was a finalist at both the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards and the PPA New Talent Awards.
