An ongoing renovation programme has seen almost all of the company’s shops given “a modern, warm and welcoming new look” with its Whitley Bay, Hexham, Consett, Redcar and Hull branches the latest recipients.
Chris Harrison, managing director of Dawson & Sanderson, said: “I am delighted that our latest new-look stores were welcoming customers throughout the busy new year period. Many are right at the heart of the communities they serve with loyal customer bases built up over decades.
“These improvements undoubtedly attract new customers and we wanted to ensure that the investment reinforces our loyalty and commitment to these towns.”
As well as improved shop frontages and interiors, stores have also been kitted out with the latest travel technology “to make booking holidays quicker and easier”.
Each store has also held promotional days to welcome existing and new customers.
Neil Homewood, manager of the Dawson & Sanderson store in Hexham’s Fore Street, said: “We celebrated our revamp with a champagne reception for our loyal customers who have booked with us over the years. It was a fantastic day and clients loved the new look of the store.”
Harrison added: “Our aim is to create a welcoming family-focused environment to book a holiday.
“The early indications are that 2017 is going to be a busy year. We are particularly noticing an increase in bookings for all-inclusive holidays and cruises so customers know exactly what they are paying and aren’t hit by any hidden extras while on holiday.”
Dawson & Sanderson opened a new shop in the Galleries shopping centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear, last August, with Harrison revealing at the time that the business was undergoing “controlled expansion”.
