She passed away last week following a short illness, with her family at her bedside.
The 60-year-old operator Bales Worldwide, which "helped put Egypt on the map", was a well-known name in the travel industry, started by George Bales and then continued by Molly and the family.
George died in 1998.
Molly has been described by friends as an “energetic” woman who “loved life and travel”.
When Virgin Holidays bought Bales Worldwide from Mandy Nickerson, Molly’s daughter, in 2009, it chose to retain the name due to loyalty of its long-haul customers to India, Egypt, China and Latin America.
Mandy remained managing director.
Plans for Molly’s funeral are yet to be released.
