The training hub, launching early next year, will include modules for both business and leisure travel, addressing topics such as how to find clients, how to use social media effectively, tips on time management, and how to write business pitches and presentations – with templates that can be downloaded.
A video library will include 15 videos by sales trainer Anthony Iannarino, with skills to practise to help agents overcome objections and effectively describe the benefits of booking with them.
Travel Counsellors’ system of incentives and rewards has also been overhauled, and will relaunch as TCRewards in January.
Head of sales promotion Mike Graham (pictured) said the scheme will reward users in three areas: for use of Phenix, for taking certain actions as part of their customer care, and for investing in themselves by writing blogs or logging testimonials. Agents will earn “gold bars” that will be stored in online “vaults”, which detail their bookings and actions.
“In the past staff have been able to earn points for a fam trip based on sales alone but that didn’t seem to be the fairest way,” said Graham. “And points will be redeemable against not just fam trips, but also holiday vouchers and items from the brand centre,” he added.
A mentoring scheme is also to launch by the end of the year, and the “Going For Gold” sales training days are to be reintroduced.
